Tshabalala family buys Bloemfontein Celtic

LEE KHOTLELE

Bloemfontein – The family of the prominent Free State businessman and Roses United FC owner, Max Tshabalala, has succeeded in buying Bloemfontein Celtic from the Augousti family.

The Tshabalalas made a formal offer to buy the Premier Soccer League team, in a deal reported to be worth R45 million.

Earlier this month, Tshabalala told Courant Sport that they were waiting to hear from the Augoustis, who were believed to have accepted the offer from the Tshabalalas.

Tshabalala has now confirmed that all is done and dusted and the Celtic are now owned by his family.

The Tshabalalas will take over the team from 1 August, but will work with the current owners as from tomorrow for a smooth transition of ownership.

He has also confirmed a meeting between himself and the Augoustis tomorrow, to talk to the administration and technical staff.

Tshabalala thanked the Augousti family for the manner in which the deal negotiations were conducted, adding that the deal was done smoothly.
