Thousands of ANC members expected to fill the Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium

Thousands of ANC members are expected to fill the Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium in Botshabelo for the party’s provincial manifesto launch tomorrow (Saturday). President Jacob Zuma and the party’s provincial chairperson, Ace Magashule, will both give key note addresses, respectively. The party’s provincial spokesperson, Thabo Meeko, says the event will also be live streamed on various community radio stations across the province.

“Those people who will not be able to make it, will have an opportunity to listen to the party’s leadership throughout various community radio stations in the province, so that all the Free State communities are then able to understand and conclude for themselves the content within the manifesto. It will then be clearer for those people that it is only the ANC that has got a tangible manifesto, that is relevant and directly addressing challenges affecting them on the ground. The content seeks to reposition municipalities in such a way that the party will be able to tackle those challenges.”

Meeko says some of the party’s provincial leaders have been mobilising in Botshabelo throughout the week, ahead of the launch.

This event is a continuation of our programme that began in 1994. We are proceeding forward to ensure that we deal with other secondary problems that our communities are experiencing. We are saying secondary because in our view, we have already consolidated the primary issues, which is basic water, electricity, sanitation, basic roads and human settlements.”
