Teenage girl busted for house robbery,  assault of an elder

An 18-year-old female was arrested after she allegedly broke into a 64 year old woman’s home and stabbed the elder with a table knife.

According to a statement by the office of the provincial police commissioner, the suspect went to a house in Phahameng, Bultfontein looking for her boyfriend when the incident occurred. The suspect knocked at the door and the grandmother of the boyfriend answered and told the suspect that her grandson was not at home. The suspect insisted that her boyfriend was there and entered the house through the window.

“After gaining entry into the house the suspect went to her boyfriend’s room and when she did not find him there, she took a table knife and stabbed the old woman twice on her head, cheek and on her left shoulder, which caused the knife to break in half. The victim tried to make a cell phone call but the suspect grabbed her lphone and wallet containing R400 and left through the same window,” said the police.

The suspect was later arrested by Constable Fokane Ramatsebe of Bultfontein SAPS. Blood stains were found on her clothes when she was arrested. She appeared in the Bultfontein Magistrates Court this week and the case was postponed to 14 June 2019 for bail application. She will remain in custody.
