Book lovers alike are in for a treat since from today they can get a copy of American novelist Harper Lee’s sequel on To Kill a Mockingbird.
Now available country-wide Go Set A Watchman was officially launched this morning world-wide and local bookstores already have it stocked up.
Bloemfontein’s Exclusive Books Senior Book seller, Adriaan Van Den Berg says locals have shown excitement with the arrival of the book and are seemingly aware of it being on sale.
"We are now realising the book and it’s on our book shelves, there is already been a lot interest, a lot of walk in, it seems a lot of people in Bloemfontein are aware of this book, " he says.
He adds that this are not simply two books by the same author but are companion pieces. To Kill a Mockingbird deals with the racism Lee observed as a child in her hometown of Monroeville, Alabama and went on to win her 1960 Pulitzer Prize.
"Many have read the first book, and are now keen to read this second one Go Set A Watchman is the parent book," he explains.
