Some political parties satisfied with voting process in FS

Some political parties in the Free State are satisfied with the way the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) conducted the 2016 Municipal Elections in the province.

DA leader in the province, Patricia Kopane, says besides the IEC’s good work there were political tolerance between different parties. She also applauds voters for their dedication.

She said the voting process went well and applauded voters for enduring cold weather conditions to cast their votes.

Kopane is satisfied with the DA’s performance thus far in Mangaung.

She says the DA managed to keep twelve of the ward they previously governed. The party managed to win ward 47 in Mangaung for the first time from the ANC.

The EFF’s Kgotso Morapela says the election process in the Free State went fairly well.

In some parts of the province the EFF is satisfied with how the voting process went, but in some wards the party have some disputes.

Morapela says it is too early to say how the EFF preformed in the province since the results of only a few voting stations are in. – Christal-lize Muller
