Park Road police have detained two individuals in connection with a brutal robbery, the footage of which has spread widely across social media. The disturbing incident, which took place in Bloemfontein’s Central Business District (CBD), saw the occupants of a Ford Fiesta violently assaulted.
After the video began circulating, authorities swiftly launched an investigation, leading to the rapid arrest of two suspects believed to be directly involved. Police confirm that enquiries are ongoing to track down and apprehend the remaining perpetrators.
“Crucially, as the police we confirmed that no formal case has been opened regarding this incident,” stated police spokesperson, Sergeant Mahlomola Kareli. “Therefore, we are urgently appealing to the victims who were attacked to come forward and report the crime.”
“We urge anyone who was a victim of this robbery, or anyone with information related to the incident, to contact Park Road police on 082 453 0760 or call police crime line 086 001 0111 or drop an anonymous tip off on MySapsApp,” he added.
The spokesperson explained that police are dedicated to ensuring the safety of all residents and visitors to Bloemfontein. “We are working diligently to bring all perpetrators of this crime to justice,” Kareli stated.
