GALOOME SHOPANE The national union of metal workers of South Africa says it will make its final announcement on Sunday.
Numsa’s Andile Zitho says the National Executive Committee met this morning and there are a few issues they have to discuss with members.
Earlier this week Numsa said it had received a reasonable offer from the employer on behalf of components manufacturing workers.
The union also said that by Wednesday they will be able to tell whether the revised offer is accepted of refused.
“There are about three to four issues that the union still needs to take up with employers, but until then the strike still continues,” says Zitho.
The strike has entered its fourth week, with Numsa declaring that the strike will not be settled for anything other than a double digit wage increase.
