New FS judge president appointed

A new judge president in the Free State has been appointed by President Jacob Zuma Thursday.

Judge Mahube Molemela was appointed as judge president of the Free State division of the high court in Bloemfontein. According to provincial governmental spokesperson Mondli Mvambi, they are delighted by Molemela’s appointment and looking forward to working with her.

Mvambi explained that Molemela’s new position qualifies with government’s strategic plan of embracing gender equality for previously marginalized race groups.

“The provincial government appreciates and congratulate Molemela on her appointment as the permanent judge in the province. It has been a transparent process and for a very long time, the Free State Province has been in the forefront of championing for the balance in representation of the judges in terms of experience, gender and age. Premier Ace Magashule had the opportunity of being involved in the interviews of judges throughout the country,” he said.
