New Donald Cover Photographed and Designed By Free State Native

Qwa-Qwa born photographer and graphic designer Tankiso Tank Khumalo has bagged his second album cover for musician Donald.
“Using Tank on this album was a no brainer based on the type of graphic and photography work that he has provided during my career. I really believe in his talent and have seen him grow and get better each time we work together. He is one of the most talented creatives in this country; I certainly hope that he will get recognition for his work and am willing to help in that department, says an excited Donald”
This is not the first time that the two artists have joined forces. Tank is responsible for the design of Donald’s debut album “Train of Love” and also photographed the images that appeared in the album sleeve. Since then Tank has taken Donald’s publicity photographs and regularly travels across the country capturing numerous unforgettable performance moments including the Metro FM Music Awards, the South African Music Awards.
“Working on Donald’s the “Train of Love” album cover was a blessing considering that I was new to the industry. He was neither familiar with my work nor my capabilities. None the less, that was the beginning of a great working relationship .This time around I’m a bit more seasoned and have as his official photographer worked on numerous projects with him so there is a level of comfortability but at the same time one feels immense pressure to deliver, says the modest Tank.”
The images for Donald’s sophomore album simply titled “Black and White” were shot at Johannesburg’s Sasani Studios earlier this month. On the concept, Tank explains, “the idea was to use various reflections or interpretations of black and white. It has been a creative challenge but I’m excited for people to see the full design”, says Tank.
“Black and White” will be available in stores from 28 March 2014.
