Matlosana Municipality based in Klerksdorp had been put under administration by the North West provincial government.
According to Mayor Mike Khauoe, they are currently experiencing stability within the municipality though they had been put under administration. Khauoe explained that even though the municipality has previously obtained seven disclaimer reports from the Auditor General’s office, there is an improvement.
He said Matlosana municipality is now at a qualification stage of the Auditor General’s report. Khauoe added that there has been constancy within the municipality’s management and financial systems.
“The Auditor General has raised some few points which I think our province has taken seriously. We also agree as councillors that we need stability in our municipality. There is a vast improvement between the relationship of councillors and administration but we still need to improve a lot. We appreciate the intervention and we will not oppose to anything as I don’t think the municipality at any stage is going to go court and contest this issue. This is proper and I think we need stability to give services to our community,” said Khauoe.
More than five North West municipalities were put under administration this year alone.
