He says the suspects then fled the scene in the couple’s white Toyota Corolla.
Kareli says the car was found to have overturned at the Havenga Bridge on the way to Petrusville and it seems as if the suspects might have lost control of the vehicle when it crashed.
Kareli says the Police’s forensic unit are at the scene. The suspects reportedly abandoned the wreckage.
The farmer’s wife managed to untie herself and her husband and drove to the nearest police station to report the incident.
Her husband is seriously injured and the couple, whose identity is known to OFM News, is currently receiving treatment at a local clinic.
According to Kareli it is still unclear how the suspects gained entrance to the house and whether they were armed or not during the farm attack.
Two rifles and an undisclosed amount of money and cell phones were reported missing from the house.
