Lefa Pharoe, known as Biggie, is a young videographer, music producer, cinematographer and photographer born and raised in Botshabelo. He grew up in the sprawling township and also attended school there.
This is where his love of taking photos and music videos, as well as producing music, began.
Pharoe says he started in 2011 with music production, video production, photography and cinematography.
“I have worked with many local artists here in Botshabelo such as Troy Nation, Rusher and Shaun as well as Max Chain. I have also shot a music video for a gospel artist called Peter Mokgoswa and a hip hop crew called Two Good from Mangaung. I have also mixed and mastered Soul Session adverts that play on Mosupatsela FM.
“My only focus is making great music and beautiful music videos, but I am trying new things because in today’s world one needs to do more than one thing to generate cash. So next year I will enroll at the Central University of Technology to study towards a diploma in teaching.
“I went to study sound and motion picture at Sound and Audio Solutions in Bloemfontein to enhance my passion. I believe talent and qualification go together. So I would like to see myself as one of the best sound engineers and videographers in South Africa,” says Pharoe.
