Macufe 2019 launched at the Edge

The Reamohetswe Secondary School jazz band set the mood for the launch of Macufe 2019 with some great music at The Edge Restaurant on Naval Hill this morning.

Welcoming guests to the launch of the festival, Free State MEC of Sports, Arts Culture and Recreation, Limakatso Lehasa, said she hoped they had brought along money to spend in the city.

“I’m young and beautiful so I’m going to make sure that we have more young and beautiful people coming to Macufe,” Lehasa said jokingly.

“This is my first Macufe and I welcome all your feedback.”

Although the launch was scheduled to start at 6 am this morning, guests waited for two hours before Lehasa arrived. After her arrival they waited a little while longer while she conducted a few radio interviews.
