Rochan Coertze Reflecting on 2024, I realise how much stronger I have become, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I had the privilege of travelling abroad to Ireland and experiencing the rich culture and history while visiting dear friends. Being overseas was wonderful, but local is always lekkerste and that feeling was solidified after attending Siya Tyu’s Self Defense Workshop. We all know the world is a dangerous place and the crime statistics are terrifying, so Siya hosted a workshop to teach us a bit of self-defense, should the need ever arise. PHOTOS: SUPPLIEDThabang Selemela The year 2024 is drawing to a close and we soon will be ushering in a new year with a heightened sense of great expectations and hope, all things considered indeed 2024 was a great year. My highlight for this year was the second successive and successful hosting of our cycling club’s (Team Geniuses Cycling Club) event called Friend’s BIGGEST Ride. This is arguably one of Bloemfontein’s premiere cycling events where friends come together and ride bicycles in two different categories of 50km and 80km, characterised by lots of camaraderie, goodwill and comradeship.Czesh in Kontrol Sani The GLO ON 2ND media launch has to be one of my highlights of the year, it was a beautiful event and well executed, people came out in numbers – it had most media gurus and influencers. I attended Pretty Cool Strangers at Afro Braai in Willows. It was such a dope event and they chose a perfect day to curate it – on a Sunday. There were really “pretty cool strangers” around and I was one of them. The venue was so beautiful, the aesthetics just matched the ambience. Shout out to Soule and Malik for a great event.Juliano Davide Petrella This year has been remarkable for 051 Culture Club and Gwababa Bois Entertainment, with our brands growing and thriving. We were proud to run the Blerkas (Beer Tent) at the Vryfees Arts Festival for the second year in a row and to be part of the Bloem Show with the Corona Corner through SAB. Another major milestone was the opening of 051 Culture Café Eatery and Pizzeria Lounge. These achievements highlight an exciting year of growth and progress.Gershon Lynch I’m a fashion designer specialising in ready to-wear smart casual wear for both males and females. House of Lynch is a chance for Lynch to show off a particular aesthetic, a particular mood, particular feel or point of view. My highlights of the year was being able to showcase my work at Cubaña, Lemo Fest, the Qoai Fashion Show and the Free State Fashion Week.Khalalelo Senoko My biggest highlights of this year is the publication of my book and being able to juggle work, school and my side hustles without failing my grades. I managed to balance everything somehow. My local highlight of the year I must say is the opportunity I got to play with the Symphony Orchestra, which is always a great experience. And also being able to see the Mzanzi play too, it was my first time seeing them and the experience was great. PHOTOS: SUPPLIED
