Aspiring Free State Tour Guides are invited to register with the Provincial Registrar if they are interested in pursuing a career in tour guiding.
The invitation is set out by the Department of Economic, Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (Destea), through the Tourism Support and Development Directorate, and the office of the Tourist Guide Registrar.
According to Destea “tourist guiding is also an opportunity for tourism enthusiasts to become entrepreneurs and make a living from the sector”.
This can be achieved in three categories, namely nature guides, culture guides, and adventure guides.
Application forms are available at the Destea head office at 113 St Andrew Street, 7th floor, Bloemfontein, or they may contact the office of the Provincial Registrar. Applicants are requested to pay R240 for registration.
