The Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation Unit is currently conducting a search and seizure operation at Free State Gambling Liquor and Tourism Board offices in Bloemfontein.
According to a media statement issued by the Hawks this morning, the operation follows an ongoing investigation regarding allegations of fraud and corruption where two companies were awarded tenders worth approximately R150 million during June 2017, without due procedures being followed.
No arrest has been made at this stage, and investigations continue, the Hawks said in the statement.
