A 65-year-old Bloemfontein woman has been brutally attacked and stabbed to death by her own granddaughter following a vicious domestic brawl which had erupted between the two.
The suspect aged 25 allegedly accused her grandmother of killing her parents two years ago. The brutal incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday, 15 February 2017 in Wessels Street situated in Hilton suburb just a few kilometres outside Bloemfontein City Centre.
Indications are that following the argument, the suspect armed with a knife had allegedly charged on the victim. She chased her around the house until she overpowered her. The suspect then stabbed the victim five times in the chest. The last blow was when the deceased was stabbed in the neck and ultimately fell to the ground with the knife still stuck in her neck.
A neighbour alerted the police and paramedics. The woman was declared dead on the scene as a result of multiple stab wounds and severe bleeding.
The suspect was immediately arrested and is expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate`s court soon on a murder charge.
