#Gallery: Brebner revue a real treat

This past week, Bloemfontein residents were treated to a theatre performance at the Sand du Plessis Theatre in Bloemfontein, hosted by Brebner Primary School.

The performance had most members of the audience on their feet, dancing and singing along. The theatre was packed to capacity with parents and teachers, amongst others, who were extremely proud to have a gem such a Brebner in their town. This year’s, revue was themed A Journey through Life.

The school has staged many revues that date back to the 1978s. In 2006 it moved its productions to the Sand du Plessis Theatre.

Their previous productions were Century of Broadway (2006), Brebner Brock (2008), Ma(y)nia (2010), The Smurfs save the Seven Wonders (2013) and Respect (2017).
According to a teacher at the school, Anine Greyling, this year the school was extremely fortunate and excited to have worked with Willie Venter (choreographer) who staged this musical and cultural experience. Venter is well-known for his choreography for Huisgenoot Skouspel, Afrikaans is Groot, Top Model SA. He is also a patron for the Bloemfontein Children’s Choir.
