Family dies after poisoning

GALOOME SHOPANE Bothaville police are investigating murder and inquest cases following the deaths of five family members and the hospitalisation of two of the family’s sons.

Police spokesperson Steven Thakeng says the two survivors Thabang and Lebohang Modisadife aged ten and just under a year respectively are recovering well in hospital.

Thakeng says the husband, Teboho Mahoko, sought assistance from his neighbour at 1 o’clock, Monday morning as he was vomiting uncontrollably.

He says on the arrival, the police found Mahoko dead on the front door.

Thakeng further explains that “on further investigation inside the house more bodies were found that was the wife, two kids and her sister. At this stage five people died on the spot and two survived. On the scene it was discovered that (four step) poison was used.”
