Exclusive: Dangerous liaisons at Zastron school

CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER

The Free State Department of Education is disturbed and worried about allegations that two female teachers at a school in Zastron are in a romantic relationship with two male learners at the same school.

Education spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, says the department views the matter in a very serious light because in terms of the education policy no educator is allowed to be in a romantic relationship with a learner. Ndaba says the alleged relationships with the two learners, who are 18 and 17 respectively, have been ongoing for some time. He says the teachers have offered to resign.

An informed source told Bloemfontein Courant that the two teachers have meanwhile been admitted to the Bloemcare Psychiatric Clinic in Bloemfontein.
