Enactus CUT crowned National Champions

The Enactus South Africa National Competition 2022 was held at the Sandton Conventional Centre, Gauteng on the 14 July 2022. This year, The Central University of Technology’s (CUT) very own, Enactus CUT, were crowned as the National Champions.

The Enactus national competition is held once a year, to showcase how entrepreneurial action and open innovation are transforming lives and creating a better future for South African citizens, specifically looking at community empowerment projects.

Competing against four major traditional institutions, the team managed to secure the top spot for their two projects – Village Fa and Vermiculture (worm farming). The champion team, is set to jet off to San Juan, Puerto Rico to represent South Africa among 32 countries.

The victorious team is led by Prof. Crispen Chipunza, Prof. Patient Rambe, Mr Ephraim Tshobeka and Ms Maraka Lefera. The team also dedicated their victory to the Community Engagement Unit, Agri-Business Corner, Prof. Albert Strydom: Dean of Management Sciences, Governance and Student life unit, PAVA (Lesotho NGO) as well as their sponsors (Ford SA, Harmony Gold mine and Interstate Bus Services).

The world cup is scheduled to take place from the 30 October to 02 November 2022.
