Centlec has notified residents and businesses in parts of Bloemfontein of a power outage following a fault at the Limousine Distribution Centre (DC).
The outage is due to a 33/11kV transformer that has been isolated to allow for the topping up of transformer oil. Power was scheduled to be switched off at 10:00, with an estimated restoration time of 12:00.
The affected areas include Mooiwater, Bainsvlei, Sopieshoogte, Spitskop and Gronvlei.
According to the utility, a team of technicians has been dispatched and is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Updates regarding the restoration time will be communicated should there be any changes.
Residents are warned that electricity supply may be restored without notice at any time during the shutdown period. All electrical installations should therefore be treated as live and dangerous.
