Free State Democratic Alliance councillor Monica Deniacos and her husband Basil were found dead today. The councillor served the community of Tokologo Local Municipality for the past three years.
DA Provincial Leader, Patricia Kopane, described Deniacos as a beloved public representative. “Councillor Deniacos always served the community of Tokologo to the best of her abilities and was a much loved public representative of the party as its sole representative on the Tokologo Council since 2016,” said Kopane.
The Tokologo municipality includes the towns of Dealesville, Hertzogville and Boshof.
According to police spokesperson, Thabo Covane, police are at the scene this afternoon where evidence is being collected. Deniacos was a prominent business woman in the area.
Kopane said the news of the councillor’s death came as a huge shock. “The DA sends its heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, friends and the community of Tokologo in this sad time,” she said.
