Cops chase suspects through Bfn Streets

It was like a scene from the latest instalment of the highly popular movie series, The Fast and the Furious, when police and security personnel chased two suspected car jammers and card scammers through the streets of Bloemfontein less than an hour ago.

This is according to eyewitnesses who saw the whole drama unfolded in parts of the Bloemfontein suburbs of Brandwag and Westdene.

Three suspects were allegedly involved in car jamming and card scamming at the Bloemgate Shopping Centre in Brandwag. A security guard noticed some strange activity taking place at the centre and started to chase the suspects, who fled the scene in a white Fiat Uno.

A wild car chase ensued between the suspects and the security personnel, with the police joining the chase as it progressed through the streets.

Realising that they have nowhere to go, two of the three suspected car jammers jumped out of the car and onto the pavement.

The driver took a sharp turn into James Scott Street in Westdene, resulting in the Uno overturning. The driver got out the car unscathed and tried to ran away, but was caught by the police on the Corner of Brill Street and Dan Pienaar Drive. His two accomplices are still in the run.
