Cheetahs winger Nkosi tests positive for a banned substance

The rival of the Springbok winger, Sbu Nkosi’s, career appears to be in tatters following reports of doping on the weekend.

A Sunday paper reported that the 2019 Rugby World Cup winner, had tested positive for a banned substance and this can put his career in jeopardy.

The speedster recently became riving his once promising career at the Toyota Cheetahs and this year he became an almost automatic choice for the team in their SA Cup games and he recently made his Currie Cup debut for the side.

The 28-year-old underwent a World Rugby test in May and his A sample was positive. He faces a potential four-year ban from the sport should his B sample also return a positive result.

In 2022 Nkosi moved from the Sharks to Bulls, but his stay in Pretoria was short-lived as his mental health issues came to the fore after going missing from the franchise.

Nkosi did not play in Friday’s Currie Cup match against Bulls in Pretoria.

This is a developing story.
