Bloemfontein Courant doesn’t support any political party and always endeavours to reflect a wide variety of political views in its day-to-day news reporting.
This is according to Christel Basson, General Manager of Mahareng, the publisher of Bloemfontein Courant and Get It magazine. Basson’s response comes after a paid poster of the Freedom Front Plus (FF+) has apparently created the impression that Bloemfontein Courant supports the FF+.
The said poster, paid for by the FF+ and printed by Mahareng’s custom printing division, has been displayed on street poles in Bloemfontein since last week Thursday.
“We apologise if the poster might have created the impression that we are biased towards the Freedom Front Plus. We are an apolitical media house which publishes a variety of views across the whole political spectrum.” – Pieter Delport
