Bloemfontein. – Police in Bloemfontein are looking for two suspects who shot and killed a police official in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The name of the official has not been released as his next of kin have not been informed of his death. According to police spokesperson Fikiswa Matoti, the official from the Stock Theft Unit was shot in the forehead in Bloemspruit when leaving a tavern with his girlfriend.
The official was walking with his girlfriend to his place of residence, coming from a nearby tavern in Peter Swartz, Bloemspruit, when a white Citi Golf with two people stopped and they fired gun shot that shoit and killed him.
She was forced into the suspects’ vehicle and later dropped elsewhere in Bloemspruit. The woman is still in shock, could not remember exactly what happened.
At the stage, no one has been arrested, the investigation is in progress.
Bloemfontein Police are therefore urging the community to assist with information regarding the incident and the whereabouts of the two unknown suspects who shot and killed the police constable, to contact Colonel Ketlamoreng Mafoyane on 082 373 9259.
