Bfn community aggrieved by the death of grade 3 learner struck by lightning

The Bloemfontein community has been hit hard by the death of a grade three learner from Oos Intermediate school in the Free State after she was struck by lightning yesterday.

The incident took place close to her home in Khayelithsa area, Mangaung in the Free State. According to the Free State Department of Education spokesperson Howard Ndaba, the grade 3 learner was on her way home from school with fellow learners when the incident took place.

Ndaba said the department is saddened by untimely death of the learner. He said the school community and parents will be provided with psychosocial support. He further conveyed heartfelt condolences to the family, fellow learners, friends and teachers of the deceased.
