A registered Government Auditor by profession, a Radio Bloem presenter, a Miss South Africa Plus World Ambassador, and 2022’s Get It Cover Search winner is nervously excited about her nomination in the Basadi in Music Awards as the Entertainment Radio Presenter of the Year.
Mittah Ledimo has proven to be a multi-talented woman through the many titles she upholds in her professional and creative life. Nominated amongst some of South Africa’s popular personalities on radio, Ledimo told Bloemfontein Courant that it also means that she can only grow even more by learning from the other nominees as the recognition in the media industry is already an achievement for her. She was first nominated by a former colleague at Radio Bloem, Tarrence Masopa.
“I remember on that one specific day the closing date for people to vote for me to be nominated was at midnight. It seemed like quite a challenging task to be achieved in only a few hours from noon that one Friday. However, by God’s grace, I’m a nominee in the category of Entertainment Radio Presenter of the Year. In the same category are the likes of Thando Thabethe, Lerato Kganyago, Khutso Theledi, and Lethabo Lejoy Mathato,” she explained.
For Ledimo, her listeners are her top priority. She said that good radio presenters will always be prepared to inform their audience with content that they can relate to.
“To touch the listener in my opinion is to not be afraid to share your personal experiences as well. As much as some of the content might be disturbing, my aim as a presenter is to always leave the listener with hope.” Ledimo is grateful for the support she has received from locals and the people in her inner circle who have made it possible.
