GALOOME SHOPANE Two men who were involved in an attempted robbery this morning in Zastron Street have been apprehended by the Hawks.
Police spokesperson Zweli Mohobeleli says the men were apprehended in less than an hour after they circulated the information. The men allegedly fired one shot at two Coin Security guards who were delivering cash at one of the businesses in the area.
The two robbers allegedly ran away with an empty cash box. The incident happened at around 9 o’clock this morning.
“Immediately as the incident unfolded we alerted the nearby police, and gave a description of the vehicle they were travelling in. They were spotted somewhere around Bloemfontein. They were followed and then arrested in Navalsig,” elaborated Mohobeleli.
No one was injured and the two men face robbery and attempted murder charges.
