The Angel Hearts workshop for people with disabilities experienced a Christmas miracle when one of their workers, Elizabeth Senatla, received a gift that will make it easier for her to move around.
After suffering a stroke that has restricted her mobility, a plea to the community to assist with funds was published on Angel Hearts’ Facebook page. The Christmas miracle was welcomed by an overjoyed Senatla when she was gifted with a wheelchair.
Unable to hold back her tears, she expressed her gratitude to the local internet service provider Iclix, who presented her with a wheelchair.
“Thank you for my wheelchair. It means a lot because I could not even walk to church or the shops. I could not hold back my tears of joy. Thank you again,” she said.
Senatla is one of the seven workers at Angel Hearts. According to the founder and manager Karen Kemp, the workers are transported daily from home to the workshop as well. She founded the workshop as a way to assist people with disabilities to adapt to society by teaching them skills.
“I teach them how to work with their hands, doing needlework, leatherwork, and paint work, among many other creative projects. It is important for me to ensure that the welfare of the people at Angel Hearts is taken care of. That is why we asked if anyone could help Elizabeth with a wheelchair, and that is how Iclix assisted,” Kemp concluded
