Life coach, author and motivational speaker Myan Subrayan, will be bringing a powerful message of upliftment and encouragement to the people of Bloemfontein. An Evening with Myan Subrayan on 5 April 2019 promises to be an event from where guests from all walks of life will leave inspired.
The event is an initiative of St James Church in Heuwelsig to help in bettering the community of Bloemfontein. “Our aim was to organise something that would project a message of hope and inspiration about our country, a positive message about faith and Christianity,” said organiser Arlys van Wyk. According to van Wyk Subrayan converted to Christianity. “He was a Hindu and became a Christian, which changed his life radically,” she elaborated.
Subrayan, an international speaker, once worked at a fast food restaurant before he turned a life filled with obstacles into a success. “He went from flipping burgers to motivating the All Blacks. He also experienced many hardships growing up under the Apartheid regime but his journey is that of determination and faith,” said Van Wyk.
Subrayan motivates elite rugby teams around the world, including the New Zealand All Blacks. According to his website the life coach began motivating the Lions Rugby franchise in 2013 and often speaks to the Sharks, Bulls and Cheetahs players.
The multitalented author has also recently written Olympic gold medallist swimmer, Chad le Clos’ book, Unbelievable, current Springbok and Bulls captain, Pierre Spies’ More than Rugby, and former All Black, Inga Tuigamala’s Inga: My Story.
“He has a way with an audience,” expressed Van Wyk. The event will take place at Universitas Church in Strauss Street, Bloemfontein where Subrayan will present in English and Afrikaans. “All are welcome whether young or old and we are a very multicultural church where everyone across the board in the Free State can attend,” she added.
The programme features Oranje Girls’ High School choir and acapella duo, Mario and Arno. “What they will be singing will echo the positivity that Myan will be bringing,” said Van Wyk.
Tickets can be bought at Computicket at R130 for adults and R100 for pensioners and children under 14. The event will start at 19:00 where Subrayan’s books including You Can and From the Pit to the Palace will be available for sale. – Nomaqhawe Mtebele
