A boy believed to be 12 years old has died after being knocked over by a car in Rudolph Greyling Road in Estoire, Bloemfontein, this morning. According to witnesses, he was riding on a bicycle with another boy when a car knocked them over.
ER24 spokesperson, Chitra Bodasing, says paramedics found the deceased lying on the road while the car was found a few metres away from him.
Another child, believed to be 11 years old, was found to have sustained moderate injuries. It is understood that members of the public took him to a business close by to assist and calm him. Paramedics treated and transported him to hospital for further medical care.
It is understood that a another child was with the boys when the incident occurred, however, he escaped injury. He was apparently taken home by members of the public
Local authorities do not know the exact cause of the incident and are still investigating the matter.
