A girl believed to be nine years old, drowned in a quarry on a farm in Roodewal, Bloemfontein on Sunday afternoon, paramedics said.
Police alerted ER24 paramedics to the incident at about 3 pm, ER24 spokeswoman Annine Siddall said.
“ER24 paramedics provided the patient with advanced life support interventions for about 40 minutes, but unfortunately she was later declared dead at the scene,” she said.
