The closing date for entries in the Mr and Miss Campus UFS 2018 was moved to Wednesday 14 March 2018 to give more students an opportunity to enter.
The first round of judging will take place on Friday 16 March 2018.
Mr and Miss Campus UFS, which was established in 2018, is a pageant based platform that will empower Kovsie students in creating a better tomorrow, according to Mienke van Rooyen and Stefan Lötter, the directors of this brand new pageant.
Nicole Coetzer, one of the first entrants, believes that she should be the next Miss Campus. “I am dedicated to Kovsies and I think it is amazing what the university is doing to help students to get the best education possible.
“I am studying Senior Phase Education and I know about the struggles some learners face, for example not having lunch for school. They come to class hungry, with the result that they struggle to concentrate in class,’’ says Coetzer.
Another entrant, Andile Mthembu, says that he should be the first Mr Campus UFS. “I understand that being Mr Campus UFS will be an assignment delivered to me and my responsibility is to be active and promote this initiative wholeheartedly.
“If I’m fortunate enough to represent this exclusive initiative, my view, hope and goal is to gain knowledge and expand my professional network,” says Mthembu.
Entries are free, but don’t forget to attach a headshot photo of yourself. Entry forms will be available from the SRC building on the Bridge on campus and also on Facebook for download. Completed forms can be dropped-off at the SRC building or emailed to gleamvrl@gmail.com.
