Steyn was the Cheetahs biggest signing of the season, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic is only able to make his debut this week.
Steyn told OFM Sport that being able to wear a Cheetahs jersey is a big deal for him.
“Everybody is looking forward to the rugby to begin now.
“For me making my debut, I am a little nervous.
“When I was a little kid I always came here with my dad to watch the Cheetahs in games where they beat the Lions and so on.
“It’s actually a massive thing for me to be here at the stadium and to be able to play for the Cheetahs.
“I hope that it will be a good one and that we can pull it through.”
Other players that will be on debut this weekend are the flanker, Andisa Ntsila, and the hooker, Chucky van der Westhuizen, who will play off the bench.
Carl Wegner will be backing his return to the Cheetahs after returning to the team following a stint in Japan. The Springbok Sevens speedster, Rosko Specman, also makes a welcome return to the Cheetahs team following a stint at the Bulls.
