Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) graduates came in full circle on their journey to success during the 2015 Spring Graduations which took place on 04 September.
This season 15 master's degrees, of which five were Cum Laude in the fields of Civil and Electrical Engineering, IT, Biomedical Technology, Environmental Health, Business Administration, Public Management, HR and Tourism and Hospitality were conferred.
Five new doctorates are Drs Philibert Nsengiyumva (Electrical Engineering), Leana Esterhuizen (Environmental Health), Livingstone Aglosu Kofi Agbotame (Business Administration), Moganathan Chetty and Bongani Elias Sithole (Public Management).
The total number of graduates for 2015 for both autumn and spring ceremonies totalled 3 427.
When addressing the graduates, Prof. Henk de Jager, Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Academic and Research said: “This is a proud moment for us as CUT to see you completing your journey of many years.
"As you celebrate your success, bear in mind that your journey does not end here, this is just the beginning. When you go out there, you will be faced with challenges of unemployment and poverty stricken communities.
"Those individuals are depending on you to make a difference in their lives. This occasion is a confirmation that you have all the necessary skills and knowledge to tackle all those challenges, so go out there, make us proud, conquer, and make a difference!”
Prof. De Jager further thanked the parents for their continuous support towards their children’s success.
Amongst the guests who graced the event were parents, students and Prof. Sagini Keengwe, a visiting professor from the University of Dakota.
