Raymond Mhlaba traffic circle is fully operational

After weeks of tireless efforts from the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality, the Raymond Mhlaba circle is fully operation and traffic flow is back to usual.

The MMC for Infrastructure Services, Councillor Vusi Soqaga, confirmed this on a social media post over the weekend.

“We would like to extend our greatest appreciation to our residents and motorists for your cooperation during the construction work,” he said.

The Raymond Mhlaba Street and Wilcocks Road traffic circle’s sewer pipe replacement project was completed as per his projections when he provided Bloemfontein Courant with an update on 27 June.

He mentioned that the project took a few days to complete due to the waiting period for the concrete to dry, a maximum of seven days.

Emergency pipe repairs started on 21 May 2025. Measures were put into place to accommodate the construction and ease the traffic by way of a detour, which has now ended.
