President Cyril Ramaphosa will be in Bloemfontein on Satuday, 16 June, to attend the second Springbok test match against England. This occasion will coincide with Youth Day and new Bok captain, Siya Kolisi’s 27th birthday. It follows Saturday’s match, where the Boks produced a stellar game against England by beating them 42-39. The match was also made more special because it was Kolisi’s first match as the first black Springbok captain.
According to IOL, Minister of Sport, Tokozile Xasa, applauded the Boks for their win. “Our boys represented us with pride, you could see their determination and spirit of unity. I had no doubt in my mind that they will win the game despite their initial 3-24 setback. If we can all emulate the Springbok spirit of never-say-die attitude, we can achieve a lot as people,” Xasa said. She further congratuled Kolisi on a job well-done and the Boks coach, Rassie Eramsus, for his display of confidence in youth. The second Test at Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein will start at 5.05pm next Saturday. The final match in the series will take place at Newlands in Cape Town on June 23.
