East Coast Media/Movietech Film & Television College is offering young, aspiring film makers the opportunity to take part in an accredited learnership in Film & Television Production in Bloemfontein. The leanership is in partnership with and funded by the MICT SETA, and the Free State Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation.
Rani Sitarum of East Coast Media said this is an opportunity for any young person who has an interest in a career in digital film and television production, media, arts and technology. “If you have demonstrated creative or technical ability and are disciplined and hardworking, then the film, television and media industry might be a good career choice for you. Participants learn about directing, camerawork, editing, scriptwriting and other production skills, while gaining practical experience,” Sitarum said.
The learnership is open to matriculants, technology, journalism or arts graduates from the Free State Province, aged form 18 to 35, that are unemployed and available for a 12-month period. The learnership will lead to the accredited qualification: National Certificate: Film & Television Production (NQF5).
Successful applicants will have their tuition fees paid and will receive a monthly stipend. They must be able to travel on their own to Bloemfontein daily. The closing date is 31 July 2017, however, if the project meets its target number of appropriate learners, the closing date might be brought forward. To apply, call Portia Sambe, Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 16:00 on 079-392-1654 for further application details. –Â SEITHATI SEMENOKANE
