The much-anticipated meeting scheduled to take place at the Premier’s house comes just hours before the sitting of the Mangaung council. The financial state of the municipality, its ability to render services to residents and the mandate of the new administrative team is expected to come under the loop after it was downgraded twice by Moody’s Investors Services and placed under administration by the provincial government.
OFM reports that in a media briefing chaired by the ANC’s Provincial Secretary Paseka Nompondo last week, the party confirmed that the state of this municipality is a great concern as it is the first metropolitan municipality to be placed under the provincial care. Nompondo added that the party is generally concerned over municipalities’ financial woes and political environment.
