Kidnapping and robbery suspects sought

A 42-year-old woman who is an employee of one of a prominent insurance company in Bloemfontein is still reeling in shock after being attacked and robbed of her household appliances, at her house in the wee hours of today.

At approximately 02:30, this morining (Thursday, May 23) the woman was surprised by three knife-wielding intruders at her house. The incident took place shortly after she had entered the house through the sliding door of the dinning room, in Koedoe Street in Fauna.

After being confronted, one suspect held her at knife-point and other accomplices ransacked the house looking for valuables. The two suspects started collecting the household appliances and loaded them into the victim`s car that was parked outside and drove away to off-load them to an unknown place, whilst the other suspect remained behind, guarding the victim until his accomplices came back.

After the arrival the suspects allegedly loaded more of the appliances and later drove away with the victim to the nearest ATM machine at the corner of Harvey and Fort Street where they allegedly forced her to withdrew an undisclosed amount of cash. They then covered her with a blanket and drove towards Batho location where they off-loaded the appliances at the unknown house.

The victim further alleged that after off-loading the items, the suspects drove back to town and stopped next to another ATM machine in Harvey road where she was forced to make another withdrawal of an undisclosed amount of cash. After the transaction, the suspects warned her not to inform anyone about the incident and that if she did, they know where she stays and they will come again. They then gave her her car keys and escaped on foot.

The total value of the robbed items estimated at R 60 000 and includes the following ;

  •  1 x Sumsung DVD and speakers
  •  1 x Sumsung Tablet
  •  1 x Samsung S3 cellphone
  •  1 x Nokia cell phone
  •  1 x Sony play station
  •  1x Music Keyboard(Rowland)
  •  1x Jewellery box containing undisclosed jewellery pieces
  •  1 x Play station games
  •  1 x Russel hob electric heater
  •  1 x Russel hob iron

A case of house robbery and kidnapping have been registered for further investigation and no arrests have been made yet.

The Park Road Police requests anyone with information that could led to the arrest of the suspects to contact the investigation officer, Capt Gomolemo Moleko at 082 526 2676.

At this stage, the Station Commander of Park Road, Brigadier Khothatso Ramokotjo has assembled task team which has already initiated a very extensive look-out of the suspects and determined to track down the suspects and bring them before court as soon as possible.
