September is Heart and Stroke Awareness Month. The aim of this month is to inform the public about the fourth biggest natural killer in the country.
Many people still believe that heart diseases and strokes only affect the elderly.
However, more than half of all deaths caused by heart diseases and strokes occur with people under the age of sixty-five.
Bloemfontein Courant spoke to Dr Franco Erasmus, Clinical Manager at Mediclinic Bloemfontein, about these health conditions as well as Mediclinic’s campaign to promote the public’s knowledge and awareness.
