REFILWE MEKOA
The Free State Health Department says they are not filling up any hospital CEO posts because the right person hasn’t been found yet.
According to MEC Benny Malakoane, they will fill in the posts when they have acquired the right person who will be suitable for the position at the right hospital. He says hospitals are currently working on a shared-services model and patients are beginning to benefit.
Malakoane says they began to define the character and attributes that a CEO should have.
“We have interviewed so many people who have the right qualifications and requisites but they were not suitable for the post. Many will be called for interviews, but few will only be chosen. It should be the least of your worries that if there is no CEO, the health services of a hospital will suffer, because they are not suffering at all,” says Malakoane.
