The South African Weather Service has issued a warning that most parts of the country are currently experiencing a heatwave. Mangaung Metro is not exempt from a high temperature, which has soared to 35 degrees Celsius today.
According to a statement by the Mangaung Metro Municipality (MMM), the heat wave is excpected to last until tomorrow, 20 October 2020.
The MMM provides some tips to cope during a heatwave:
- Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water
- Never leave pets or children alone in the vehicle
- Limit any physical activity outdoors between 11:00 and 15:00
- Wear light clothes
- Check on the elderly
