Fruit of the Spirit – 6

Fruit of the Spirit – Galatians 5 v 22-23.

The sixth fruit is goodness. Goodness is something that is pleasing, valuable or useful. It is moral excellence or an admirable quality. When we allow ourselves to do something good to others without self-benefit it is pleasing to the Lord. The value of giving something of yourself, or even meeting someone’s daily needs, is unmeasurable. We will never be able to see what this will mean to them or to us.
Moral excellence is something to be truly admired. When we have strong morals we believe in and stand by, we will not allow someone else to manipulate us. It means standing up for what you know is good and pleasing in the eyes of the Lord. Not worrying about what others would think or say. It is to publicly speak up, in love, when something that is not morally good in God’s eyes is being treated as acceptable and normal.
When you are good, your heart is pure and you will never put your own needs before someone else’s. You will defend the innocent around you when they are publicly humiliated and able to defend themselves. Goodness is to give more than possessions; it is to give yourself through the grace of God.
Blessings
