It is often said that it takes a village to raise a child. A local foundation that aims to empower young boys to become men will this weekend expose over 70 boys to an aviation experience.
The Re Ya Aha Foundation CEO, Itumeleng Monyake, told Bloemfontein Courant that their social change behaviour programme for boys is in response to help them with their morality and promote positive discipline and good morals in society. “We do help them with their behaviour. Our point of entry is in schools and we use it to focus on empowering the boy child. We have therapy workshops. Art and design therapy too. We also have a dialogue session with the man and the boy child,” she said. Furthermore, the foundation runs entrepreneurship and career development programmes where they seek to educate while providing opportunities.
Attending the Herholdts Group Tempe Airshow this weekend will be part of the foundation’s aviation programme. According to Monyake, 75 boys from Dr Blok and Hodisa Technical Secondary School will be attending.
