EFF premier candidate is the reason behind ANC move

REFILWE MEKOA

The Economic Freedom Fighters’ premier candidate in the Free State is one of the reasons some members went back to the ANC.
This is according to local radio personality and pastor, Neo Kabi.

He said there are still a lot of things that Mandisa Makesini needs to learn. Kabi was speaking at an ANC function where former ANC members announced their move back to the party. He added that most people who are on the EFF candidate list were chased out of the ANC because of ill behaviour.

Kabi said the EFF leadership announcement made him change his mind. “I think Mandisa has potential but cannot hold the Free State premier candidate position,” said Kabi.

EFF’s provincial spokesperson Lucky Mongale said Kabi’s comments are not surprising as he was never a registered EFF member but a mere supporter. He emphasised that Makesini has brought stability within the party and doesn’t agree that she isn’t ready to lead the province.

“The potential that Makesini has is even more than all the premiers that we have in our country currently in terms of political understanding and her level of activism. I think there is a trend in our country when a political candidate is a woman people think less of her and want to focus on her faults and not her potential. I think it is unfortunate and Makesini will prove everyone wrong,” said Mongale.
