Bloemfontein – Shikhar Dhawan scored a blistering 248 off 150 balls which included 30 fours and 7 sixes to hand India A a 39-run victory against South Africa A at LC De Villiers Cricket Oval in Pretoria.
This is the highest individual List-A score in South Africa since Graeme Pollock’s 222 not out for Eastern Province back in 1974.
India A will face Australia A in the final at the same ground on Wednesday. India won the toss and chose to bat first.
Dhawan made the lives of the bowlers a misery as he raced to 100 in 86 balls and went on to score 200 off 132.
Dhawan played down the significance of his innings and accredited it to the good batting deck.
He now holds the second highest individual List-A score in the world behind Alistair Brown, who scored 268 for Surrey in 2002.
