DA to lead march for the reinstatement of rural safety units in the FS

DA Free State Premier Candidate, Patricia Kopane, together with Team One SA Spokesperson on State Capture, Natasha Mazzone, and DA Shadow Minister of Agriculture, Annette Steyn, will lead a march to hand over a memorandum to the Free State Police Commissioner, Lt-Gen MP Sempe,  on Wednesday 17 April 2019, in Bloemfontein.

The purpose of the march is to highlight the lack of rural safety, specifically relating to women’s plight in rural areas.

Rural communities continue to live under siege due to violent and vicious crimes brought about by the failures of the ANC government in ensuring an effective police service that is well-resourced, well-trained and capable of clamping down on the unacceptably high levels of crime.

The DA has been consistent in its call for the reinstatement of rural safety units and other specialized crime investigation units within police service.

The march will beginat 11:30 at the Bloemfontein Train Station to 126 Metpal Building, Charlotte Maxeke Street.
